Service Description
Post-operative Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, specialist treatment designed to support the body’s recovery following cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. Surgery can temporarily disrupt the lymphatic system, causing swelling, tightness and a feeling of congestion. Using light, slow and rhythmic movements, MLD encourages excess fluid towards functioning lymphatic pathways where it can be naturally processed by the body. Post-operative MLD may be helpful following procedures such as: * Liposuction or VASER liposuction * Abdominoplasty * Breast augmentation, reduction or uplift * Mastectomy or breast reconstruction * Facelift, neck lift or blepharoplasty * Brachioplasty or thigh lift * Brazilian Butt Lift Treatment may help to manage post-operative swelling, feelings of tightness and discomfort, and restricted movement. As healing progresses, appropriate techniques may also be used to support areas of tissue firmness or fibrosis. Post-operative MLD should always be gentle. It is not deep massage, Brazilian MLD or a body-contouring treatment. We do not apply heavy pressure to freshly operated tissues, force fluid through incisions or reopen wounds. Your surgeon’s aftercare instructions must always take priority. Please ask when they are happy for MLD to begin, as recommended timings vary depending on the procedure, your health and how you are healing. Every appointment begins with a consultation. Treatment is adapted to your procedure, incision sites, swelling, stage of recovery and any compression garments you are wearing. When might treatment not be suitable? Treatment may need to be postponed, adapted or approved by your surgeon if you have: * A fever, active infection or cellulitis * Increasing redness, heat, pain or discharge * A suspected blood clot * Sudden breathlessness, chest pain or feeling seriously unwell * Unexplained or rapidly increasing swelling * An untreated seroma, haematoma or wound complication * Open, infected or weeping wounds * Uncontrolled heart or significant kidney problems * Active cancer * No approval for treatment following recent surgery MLD does not replace medical care. We cannot diagnose or treat infections, blood clots, seromas or surgical complications. If we identify anything concerning, treatment will not proceed and you will be advised to contact your surgeon or seek urgent medical attention. If you are unsure whether you are ready for post-operative MLD, please contact us before booking.
Cancellation Policy
JC Holistics – Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy At JC Holistics, your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. We kindly ask for notice if you need to change or cancel so that we can offer the space to another client. This policy is designed to be clear, fair, and in line with payment network rules. Appointments (Therapy Sessions) 24 Hours’ Notice Required – Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full session rate. No-Shows – If you do not attend your appointment and have not contacted us, the session will be charged in full. Packages – If you have purchased a treatment package, any missed or late-cancelled sessions will be deducted from your remaining balance. Refunds Refunds (where applicable) will be made to the original payment method in accordance with payment network rules. We cannot issue cash refunds for card or online payments. Please allow 5–10 working days for processing. Exceptional Circumstances We understand that emergencies happen. If illness, medical emergencies, or other unavoidable situations occur, please contact us as soon as possible. We may, at our discretion, offer to reschedule or transfer your booking. Agreement By booking an appointment or package with JC Holistics, you agree to this cancellation and rescheduling policy. Arrival Time Please do not arrive earlier than your scheduled time, as I may be with another client and unable to answer the door. If you arrive late, your treatment time will be reduced to ensure the session still ends on time. The consultation time cannot be shortened for safety reasons. The full fee remains payable, as the appointment slot was reserved for you in full.
